Here are some of my favorite eyebrow styles

Here is Camilla Belle who has a thick but well defined and neatly trimmed brow.  I like this type of eyebrow because it can be both dramatic and glamorous and yet natural and low maintenance.

Penelope Cruz has a more natural angled eyebrow which is asymmetric.  Even though here eyebrows are not identical, it gives balance to her face because there is a bit of difference in her left and right eyes.  An arched eyebrow on one side can be a trademark for many women.

How To Shape The Perfect Eyebrows

It's very easy to shape your own eyebrows.  There's no need to go to the salon or beauty parlor and pay $20 for somebody to do it for you.  All you need are a pair of tweezers, a pencil, scissors, a eyebrow comb or mascara wand, and some ice.

First, you will need to determine where your eyebrow should arch.  Start by combing your eyebrows, first come the hairs upwards and then down along the natural shape of your eyebrows.  Your eyebrows should start at the outer corner of your nose.  Hold a pencil from the side of your nose so it points straight up to the ceiling.  This is where your eyebrow should start.  Pluck any hairs that go past the pencil.  Next, angle the pencil so it goes from the side of your nose to the edge of your pupil.  Where the pencil touches your eyebrow is where your arch should be.  Make a note of this.  Finally, angle your pencil further from your nose to the outside corner of your eye.  This is where your eyebrow should end.  Pluck any stray hairs that grow past this point.  If you have eyebrow hairs that go past this point because they are too long, then use your scissors to trim them.

Now that you know how your eyebrows should be shaped, it is time to pluck them.  First, pluck any stray hairs in the direction of the hair growth.  Grip each hair with the tweezers near the bottom of the hair shaft and pull with a quick motion.  This will lessen the pain and reduce the number of broken hairs.  Tweeze your eyebrow hairs one by one and keep checking to make sure your eyebrows are even on both sides.  Do not rip out your eyebrow hairs in chunks.  Remember to pluck only from the bottom and never the top.  You can remoe hairs from the top to get rid of strays, but you should not try to shape your eyebrows from the top.

If you find that plucking your eyebrows is painful and your skin is swelling, then use some ice or a cool wet towel to numb the skin.

Finally, you can shade in your eyebrows with some eyebrow powder or eyeshadow to see what you will look like with makeup.  If you use eyebrow powder or an eyebrow pencil, remember to draw in your eyebrows in short strokes following the direction of your hair growth.  Never just draw in your eyebrows in one long stroke.

I was foolish in believing that familiarity breeds contempt. I guess, I know better now. The only way to say that you truly love a person is if you know him and what better way to do it than being friends. It relieves you the pressure of being at your best all the time, of being too perfect, of being too good. No pretenses. Seeing the flaws in a person will help you asses if this is a person you see yourself growing old with, someone you think you could listen to, someone you can respect. If the love of your life is also your best friend, I think it's one of the best evidences that God does exist and looking out for you.
